Refusing the worn out formulas of current mainstream trends in favor of making the most genuine music possible is no easy task in today’s often-fabricated recording industry. Hailing from Youngstown, Ohio, Asleep is a band that respects and admires the musical innovators preceding them.
Having been described by televisions own Patton Oswalt as a, "Very passionate, wall-of-sound", the band strives for a distinguishing identity, an identity which is felt to be sorely missing in modern- day everything.
In order to approach their goals, the band enlisted the help of Mars recording studios and it's engineer Bill Korecky (whose portfolio includes work with bands such as Mushroomhead, Integrity, Disengage, etc.). The material was recieved well and landed 'Asleep' a one album deal with the Cleveland based independent label Fractured Transmitter (www.fracturedtransmitter.com)The deal gives them distribution of their debut album, All These Things We'll Never Need, which is due out early 2006.
The band tours extensively, having traveled a good span of the Midwest and looks to expand further. They have shared the stage with bands such as Motley Crue, SUM 41, Silvertide, Ra, the Exies and labelmates The Altar Boys, Disengage, Blush, American Werewolves, and (216).
